Picking up on the ideas of taboo-generated wastage that came out of "Anatomy of the Perfectly Disposable", this bojagi blanket has been made from discarded woolly tights using the same stitch as was employed extensively in Anatomy. Used underwear isn't resold in charity shops. Our natural instincts shudder at those items of clothing that have been so intimate to an anonymous other person's body. It is easy to imagine the myriad of contagious diseases this unknown being carried, even though (s)he might have touched a railing, tried on a pair of shoes, slept in the same hotel sheets, eaten with the same fork at a restaurant as you. Some presentations give more confidence in decontamination, others none at all although testing might prove otherwise. Perhaps the subconscious reads vestiges of the intimate being that these fibres hold, like memory in water..
