Cable Opus I
In this test piece, I pulled clipped wire from one circle through to the other. I was checking
- the ability to maintain shape using the vertical grid (see below, portrait of Lisa, where there is no vertical grid support),
- the ability of the wire to fringe,
- how the cable skin fared when stitched onto stiff fabric.
In this structure, 3 superimposed layers are possible: top = cable/wire, middle = cable skin/stitch pattern, base = fabric
Future test pieces could include print onto the base fabric and weave into the pulled cable. I think in this design the top layer should make a hemisphere if woven into.
